Polychrome Ge-type porcelain appeared in the late Ming Dynasty, which was made by painting designs on prepared Ge-kiln implements and baking again at a low temperature. This is the only Ge-type Prunus Vase with polychrome Cloud and Dragon Designs treasured up in Guilin Museum, which was made in Wanli's Reign (1573-1620). The glaze is cream-colored and painted in red, yellow, green and a little black. The vase is painted with cloud and dragon designs. One dragon goes up and the other descends. The dragon claws are vigorous and forceful. Other than the rarely-seen style, this vase also features one six-toed claw of the rising dragon, which might be a random error or momentary oversight made by a folk craftsman.
