Seal of Chunhua County
This county seal was collected from Pandong Village, Suqiao Town, Yongfu County in 1977. It is a brass seal with a slightly-incomplete square seal surface with an inscription of "Seal of Chunhua County" in seal script. The name of Chunhua County was renamed after Lianghua County in the 18th year of Kaihuang era of the Sui Dynasty(581-618) and abolished in the 2nd year of Daye era (606). It was re-established in the 4th year of Wude era of Tang (621) and renamed Muhua County in 805. Chunhua County in the Tang Dynasty was originally affiliated to Gui Prefecture and put under Shi'an Prefecture in the 1st year of Tianbao era (742). Then it was incorporated into Jianling Prefecture, and returned to Gui Prefecture in 758. The seal of Chunhua County is the physical evidence for the administration conducted by the Central Regime of Tang toward the region south of the Five Ridges.
