The Diplomatic Bag presented by the Youth Friendship Association's Tourist Delegation of the Philippines in 1978
The diplomatic bag of the Philippines stands for the purity and divinity of love. According to related statistics, there are 7107 islands in the Philippines, which are dwelt by various ethnic minorities. All the young men and women on the island would be proud by receiving a linen bag given by their loved ones.
This kind of bag has three layers of pockets respectively in the upper, middle and lower parts. Each pocket is embroidered with a bird. The most commonly-seen bird species include oriole, magpie and grackle, among which oriole symbolizes progress and leisure; magpie's voice forecasts good news or guests' visits to the island; and the combination of grackle and peony extends the wish for the recipient to be "prosperous all their life".
