Garuda is a large divine bird mentioned in ancient Indian legends. It is one of the semi-Gods and semi-devils in Buddhism and the king of birds. It feeds on dragon and is the mount of Vishnu, one of the three major Gods of Hinduism.

This Garuda that we are looking at is made with a gray body glazed in greenish-yellow glaze. It stretches its wings as flying. Its two eyes are bulging. The two ears droop along its neck. Its beak is long, thick and big. The auspicious crown composed of a crescent, the sun and blazing fire stands for the integrated yin and yang that enter medial vein. Its two horns represent common meaning and truth. The first image of Garuda in China appeared in the wall paintings of Dunhuang.
